16-year-old talent makes his pre-professional debut for LAISC in UPSL D1.

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - History was made yet again on Saturday, 22 March 2025 in Greenwood, SC. With just over 14 minutes played in the 2nd half and with the team down 2-0, Coach Errol looked to his bench for solutions. It was then that 16-year-old Sam Rivera got the call to get up and check in with the fourth official. He would enter on the next stoppage in play and become the youngest player in the history of Liberty Arsenal International Soccer Club/Academy to feature for the club in a competitive UPSL match.

His hard work and dedication to developing his game at the U-16 level earned him his pre-professional first team debut in the UPSL on match day one. During his 25+mins of play, Sam had a positive impact on the game and made good account of himself by quickly adjusting to the speed of play, the physicality, and competitiveness present at the semi-pro level.

Liberty Arsenal International Soccer Club/Academy continues to offer Sam and other local youths opportunities to grow, develop and compete against higher level competition and some of the best semi-pro talent in the southeastern United States.
